Fish Hoek trespasser arrested

Armed response officers in Sunnydale, Fish Hoek were called out to a panic alarm activation on New Year’s Day. This led to the arrest of a suspect who was allegedly trespassing on the property in question.

“We dispatched three armed response vehicles to investigate the alarm signal from Lekkerwater Road, and our officers found an unidentified suspect on the property when they arrived,” explains Mr Jade Hanning, Cape Town South district manager at Fidelity ADT.

The alarm was activated by the property’s caretaker, who later identified the suspect as the person he had earlier spotted.

“Our officers continued with their investigation of the property and found that the front door had been forced open. The suspect was apprehended and handed over into police custody.

“Always make sure that your security system is in a working condition and that any staff working on your property know how to use the panic alarm in case of an emergency,” says Mr Hanning.
