Port Elizabeth business robbery suspects nabbed

Three suspects were arrested in the Markman Industrial area recently, after they allegedly robbed a business premises in the area. They allegedly also tied up the property’s security guard in the process.

“We dispatched two armed response officers to investigate an alarm signal from an address on Chrysler Street. On their arrival, the security guard told them how four suspects had climbed over the fence, tied her up, and stole six truck batteries,” says Ryan Britz, Port Elizabeth Branch Manager for Fidelity ADT.

The officers secured the scene and waited for the SAPS to arrive and take over, before they left.

“Our officers finished attending to other calls, before deciding to return to the Markman Industrial area around two hours later to carry out patrols. This led to the discovery of three suspects who were later positively identified by the security guard and the recovery of some of the stolen batteries,” says Britz.

The three suspects were handed over into police custody.

“Well done to our officers for their proactive approach to this case. By taking the initiative they did, we helped ensure that three more suspects ended up in police custody,” says Britz.
