A suspect has been charged by Pinelands SAPS, after he was arrested in Hockey Street (on Wednesday 29 June at around 13h45). The arrest follows an attempted break-in at the address.
“One of our armed response officers responded to a panic alarm activation at the address,” explains Mr. Jade Hanning, Western Cape General Manager for Fidelity ADT.
On arrival at the address, the customer informed the officer that someone was breaking in at the back of the premises. The officer went to investigate and during his search discovered a suspect leaving the property.
The suspect was apprehended, and the police were called. Pinelands SAPS arrived and arrested the suspect.
“I applaud the tireless efforts by Pinelands SAPS, the armed response officers and the community who all work together to protect the neighbourhood,” says Hanning.
It takes a lot of people to protect a neighbourhood. Everyone has some responsibility to ensure safety of people in the community. “If you see anything suspicious, you must always alert the SAPS, Law Enforcement, or your armed response company.”
Hanning says criminals might take advantage of the increased occurrence of load-shedding and this makes it even more important for community members to be alert.
