A suspect was arrested in Hout Bay last week (Wednesday 14 October 2020 at around 12h30) after he allegedly trespassed at a property in the area. He was later connected to a separate attempted break-in which had happened in Llandudno earlier.
“One of our armed response officers monitored a report on the WatchCon radio network describing a suspect that had allegedly gained access to a property in Park Road, and immediately made his way to the area,” explains Mr Jade Hanning, Cape Town South district manager at Fidelity ADT.
“When he arrived in the street, he saw a suspect matching the description who appeared to be trying to flee. The suspect jumped a wall onto a neighboring property, where he was cornered and successfully apprehended by our officer.”
The suspect was searched, and a knife was found in his possession. Police were called to the address to take him into custody.
“On further investigation, it was established that this suspect was earlier spotted where he had tried to allegedly break into a property on Fawcet Road in Llandudno. He is now in police custody and he will be charged in connection with both incidents,” says Hanning.
