On Friday 12 April, a high speed chase resulted in the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of stolen goods.
At approximately 14:00 Fidelity ADT together with Lyttelton SAPS, Wierdabrug SAPS, Safecity Projects, Tracker SA, and other security companies responded to an alert regarding a house robbery taking place in the Zwartkop area.
Charnel Hattingh Group Head of Marketing & Communications at Fidelity ADT, says “upon arrival, the suspects fled, which led to a high-speed chase. Thanks to the intervention of multiple members and the use of advanced tactical measures, the suspects’ vehicle, a silver Hyundai i10 with no registration, was stopped on Wierda Road.
The team managed to apprehend two suspects found in possession of suspected stolen goods, including a TV, laptops, and jewellery, as well as a firearm.
The suspects, were handed over to Wierdabrug SAPS, and are expected to be linked to multiple house robbery cases.
“This close collaboration with SAPS, tracking companies, and security companies once again highlights the importance of all stakeholders working together to fight crime,” said Hattingh, concluding the day’s events. “I commend our team for their swift action.”
