Industry stakeholders from SNIPR, the software specialists behind both the popular and effective License Plate Recognition (LPR) cameras, were recently invited to join Fidelity ADT for a training session at the Colt Shooting Range in Redcliffe.
“The SNIPR team got to experience first-hand the rigorous training our officers go through and got a better understanding of the high level of competency required,” explains Fidelity ADT’s District Manager for KwaZulu-Natal, Vaughan Pillay.
All Fidelity ADT Security officers undergo an intensive eight-week training programme before being deployed in the field.
“The training includes an induction, stringent firearm training, a reaction course, defensive driving and an officer safety programme which includes weapon retention and disarming. We pride ourselves on the high training standards at Fidelity ADT and believe that this is a core ingredient to our unique and successful methodology in armed response. The training provides the platform which keeps our officers safe whilst on duty, while also preparing them adequately for any emergency situation they might find themselves in,” says Pillay.
Over two thousand officers are trained annually and receive mandatory refresher training twice a year.
