Four suspects were arrested by police recently, shortly after they allegedly committed a robbery in the South End area.
“Two of our armed response officers were on patrol along Webber Street recently when they came across three members of the public. One of the women was in tears, and our officers stopped to ask if they needed assistance,” says Ryan Britz, Port Elizabeth Branch Manager for Fidelity ADT.
The woman explained that she had just been robbed of her personal belongings by four unknown men, and she provided a detailed description of the alleged assailants.
“Our officers radioed the description to their colleagues and to members of the SAPS who were on patrol in the central area of the city. It wasn’t long before four suspects were located by Fidelity ADT armed response officers on Valley Road,” says Britz.
The suspects were detained and handed over into the custody of Humewood SAPS, and the stolen items were recovered.
“Well done to our officers and their colleagues in the SAPS for their excellent teamwork in this incident. The detailed description that they were given to work with, also played a big part in the successful arrest. If you fall victim to any incident of crime, please be as specific and detailed as you can about suspects as this can make a big difference in tracking them down and arresting them,” says Britz.
