Two suspects were arrested by police early on Friday morning (20 November) after they were spotted in the city bowl with suspected stolen bicycles.
“One of our armed response officers was on patrol in the area when he received a call of suspicious activity on Hof Street around 05h31. He was given a description of two unidentified people on bicycles and he soon located the two, when he drove down Molteno Road,” says Mr Jade Hanning, Cape Town South district manager at Fidelity ADT.
“They were not able to give a plausible explanation as to how they got to have the bicycles in their possession. It was on further investigation that a resident on Woodside Road positively identified the bikes as having been stolen from his property.”
Hanning says the suspects were taken into custody by Cape Town SAPS on charges of theft and housebreaking.
