The Bellair Crime Awareness Day was held at the Hillary Primary School grounds on Saturday 20 August from 10am until 2pm. The aim of the event was to bring various industry stakeholders together as a show of united force in the fight against crime and to allow the local community the opportunity to engage with the security participants.
Several role players attended the day to show their support, including the Bellair Community Policing Forum (CPF), Fidelity ADT, SAPS members from various policing units and private security companies. The community was entertained and educated by practical demonstrations and displays to show how these agencies handle emergency situations in their daily operations.
The Crime Awareness Day was a great success and included live entertainment, food stalls, children’s activities, demonstrations and displays.
Charnel Hattingh, Head of Marketing and Communications at Fidelity ADT said they are happy to have been a part of this initiative. “Fidelity ADT is committed to forming partnerships with local crime fighting organisations to proactively reduce criminal activity. Having and maintaining good working relationships between various community safety organisations, like neighbourhood watches is very important as they can yield positive results in the fight against crime.”
If you would like to join a neighbourhood watch or CPF or are interested in starting one in your area, please contact your local Fidelity ADT office for assistance.
