A key focus area for private security companies is the importance of showing high visibility in the suburbs in which they operate without compromising on service delivery. Fidelity ADT recently deployed a branded trailer to increase their visibility in Umdloti.
“Our recently deployed Fidelity ADT trailer in Umdloti is a means to support our Localised Security Scheme (LSS) security guards and armed response in the area. We also plan to deploy a guard to conduct additional patrols,” explains Fidelity ADT’s District Manager for KwaZulu-Natal, Vaughan Pillay.
The Fidelity ADT trailer is currently deployed in Bellamont Road and will be moving around on a weekly basis into different streets within the area to increase visibility.
“This trailer forms part of a collective effort with various resources being implemented to form part of a large network of security measures to protect our residents. This trailer will also be accompanied by security cameras linked to our Community Control Room which will allow our team to observe and report anything suspicious or out of the ordinary. The ideal combination would include the trailer, CCTV or LPR cameras, armed response vehicles as well as LSS guards, which will all contribute towards curbing crime,” says Pillay.
The trailer is further supported by a roaming LPR camera installed on the armed response vehicle currently patrolling in Umdloti. LPR cameras generate alert messages when any suspect vehicle drives past, to alert police or security companies. The cameras are linked to a central database where stolen vehicles are reported, or where any vehicles that are deemed to be connected to any existing investigations are reported.
