An armed response officer on patrol in Paarl Rock this past Saturday helped arrest a suspect, after he allegedly robbed a property in the area.
Our officer was patrolling on Saturday afternoon when he saw the unidentified person walking in the street, carrying bags and heavy equipment. The person’s demeanor raised suspicion and he also immediately changed direction when he noticed the approaching officer. This led the officer to call for backup, and the suspect was eventually cornered and searched.
A search led to the discovery of items that had allegedly earlier been stolen from a local resident’s garden shed. The suspect was handed over into the custody of Paarl SAPS.
In a separate incident Fidelity ADT armed response officer Green came to the quick rescue in a two car collision. He immediately stopped and rendered assistance to the injured persons. Officer Green then noticed smoke coming from one of the vehicles engine bays. He ran to his response vehicle as all Fidelity ADT response vehicles are equipped with fire extinguishers, and doused the flames. All medical and fires services arrived shortly thereafter and took over the scene.
WELL DONE to both of our officers for trusting their instincts and responding in such a quick manner.
