The United Police Force (UPF) recently visited the Fidelity ADT offices in Pinetown to honor their armed response and guarding officers. This forms part of the UPF’s initiative to honor and thank front line workers across South Africa, including those who have been working tirelessly in the private security industry.

Fidelity ADT’s district manager for KwaZulu-Natal Vaughan Pillay expressed his gratitude towards the UPF following their visit. “Our officers are incredibly grateful for the visit from the UPF and for the appreciation they showed towards them during this challenging time. As an essential service provider, our officers have worked throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, our operational resources have been working at full capacity despite the various levels of lockdown, which is highly commendable.”

The UPF is supported by Universal Church, an international organisation who made it part of their mission to honor and thank all frontline workers across various industries.

“This is an international drive with the UPF conducting similar initiatives in other countries around the world. Their local representative arranged a packed lunch for all attendees and we also had an opportunity to listen to, and have a discussion with Pastor Rodrigo who led the meeting,” Pillay added.

Pastor Rodrigo is from Brazil and accompanied the UPF team whilst conducting a special prayer for the safety of the officers. He also delivered a short motivational speech making reference to scripture to motivate and encourage all the Fidelity ADT staff members.

“The team felt appreciated and it boosted their morale. Our officers are special individuals who are willing to place their lives at risk for the safety of others. Seeing institutions like the UPF taking the time to honor them and give them a small gift goes a long way. We truly appreciate their kindness and support,” Pillay concluded.

All attendees were given a free motivational book from the UPF as a final way to show their appreciation.
